Some people think of vacationing as sitting on the beach, sleeping in fine hotels, traveling around the world visiting exotic places, or being waited on hand and foot. Yet still, others see vacationing as wild parties, bars & clubbing, frivolous spending on restaurants, and getting into credit card or unsecured loan debt. Where these notions of “vacation” are very common (being very ordinary and accepted definitions around the world) we at CP see camping as a much preferred choice to these usages of the term. For us, camping means true relaxation of the mind. No worries, no commitments, very few responsibilities (if any), and nearly total freedom of the human psychological state of being (depending on one’s definition of the term “freedom” not withstanding). Broadly speaking, vacation means being released from as many of the societal causes of anxiety, stress, and depression as possible (for a time). It means the ability to truly “escaping”, and being removed, from the necessities of work life, corporate life, home life, and any other “life” that causes unnecessary suffering in varying degrees or stages.
Put more simply, camping means peace of mind. It means a kind of meditation that can be found in few other places in life.
