The Orbs Story

Back in 2015, the CP crew were camping up in Idyllwild, CA at the Mount San Jacinto campground, walking distance from town. At about 10:00 PM we were all sitting around the campfire after dinner (chatting about philosophical stuff of course) when all of a sudden I (Aaron) noticed some white lights appearing off in the distance through the trees. They were moving slowly toward us and up over the horizon, above and through the tree line. Initially, I thought they might have been LED lights of some kind, perhaps placed inside of balloons or paper mache, but as they got closer (moving over our heads and just above the pine tree tops) I noticed they had a squarish-roundish shape and did not look like balloons or paper at all. I couldn’t quite make out what they were but I was alarmed. Immediately I sprang up from my camp chair, stood over the fire, and alerted the crew. “Look! look! look! look! What is that?!?! What the hell is that!?!?” I blurted out. Everyone stopped their current conversations and looked in the direction I was pointing (up and to the west). As the moments passed, we noticed what appeared to be approximately 30-50 rounded-squarish light boxes (“orbs”) slowly floating over the pine trees above us. They were moving from the west toward the east and had a pace similar to that of helium filled balloons, except they were moving in more of a horizonal type direction, instead of ascending vertically. As we all speculated what they could be I pulled out my phone and was only able to get one viewable shot of some of the final lights left in the sky as they moved away from us (though I took quite a few photos using my phone). Unfortunately, there just wasn’t enough time to take a video. The orbs were moving too quickly.

Was it aliens? Hoaxers? Government testing? Corporate testing? A party trick? Part of a unique wedding celebration of “the releasing of lights”? To this day, none of us are certain what we saw that night but one thing is for certain. It was strange.

“The Orbs”

This photo is facing east. By this time the orbs were further away. If you look carefully you can see the trees to the left and right.

“We thought we saw aliens” trees

The “orbs” flew over these trees only a few hours after this picture was taken. This photo is facing west (toward the ocean).
